My story

I have loved exercise my entire life. I grew up in rural North Dakota and worked as a roughneck in the oil fields. I played multiple sports, which included basketball, football, baseball, track & field, and golf. I had scholarships for basketball, football, and track. I chose to play basketball in college, but after a year, I realized I didn't love sports; I loved the training.

So, I decided to study exercise science. I am fascinated by the human body, and I was asked to enter the Master's program for Kinesiology at the University of North Dakota. I got the opportunity to work closely with the exercise physiology professor on research and became a teaching assistant for the biomechanics professor. I worked as an intern with the strength & conditioning team, and within a year, I was hired as a coach with CSCS and CSCCa certifications. This was a wonderful educational experience working with multiple different sports teams, high-level coaches, and hundreds of athletes. I published my thesis on the effects of caffeine on vertical jump in collegiate athletes.

That's where I got the idea for BIOHACK STRENGTH. Biohacking is the use of science to develop habits that enhance your health, recovery, and longevity. Everything we do daily has either a positive or a negative impact on our health. We are all aging; that's a fact of life. But there can be a big difference between your chronological age and your biological age. Developing healthy habits has a compounding effect over time to improve and maintain your body and brain.

I have over a decade of experience in the fitness industry. I have competed in CrossFit, taught F45 classes in Sydney, Australia, and I was a  personal trainer in Los Angeles for eight years. I also taught Barry's Bootcamp classes to be a part a great community of hard workers.
